Delia Owens is an American zoologist, conservationist, and author. She is best known for her books Cry of the Kalahari (1984) and Where Rivers and Mountains Sing (2019). Owens has received numerous awards for her work, including the John Burroughs Medal and the National Book Award for Nonfiction.
