Case Studies

Case studies can be used to provide a detailed understanding of a particular phenomenon. For example, a researcher might conduct a case study of a successful school turnaround to identify the factors that contributed to the school's success.

Case studies can also be used to generate hypotheses that can be tested in larger studies. For example, the researcher who conducted the case study of the successful school turnaround might hypothesize that the school's success was due to the strong leadership of the principal. This hypothesis could then be tested in a larger study of schools that have undergone a turnaround.

Multimethod research is a powerful tool that can be used to improve the reliability and validity of research findings, as well as to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the research topic.
