Ed McBain is one of the most celebrated mystery writers of all time. His 87th Precinct novels are beloved by fans of the genre, and his short stories are equally acclaimed. Mugshots: My Favorite Detective Stories is a collection of some of McBain's best short fiction.
The stories in Mugshots feature a diverse cast of characters and settings. There are tales of murder, theft, and corruption, set in the gritty streets of New York City and the quiet suburbs. McBain's writing is sharp and suspenseful, and his characters are complex and believable.
One of the standout stories in the collection is "The Mugger." It tells the story of a young woman who is attacked by a mugger. The story is both terrifying and heartbreaking, and it explores the lasting effects of violence on its victims. Another standout story is "The Pusher." This story follows a young man who becomes addicted to heroin. The story is a cautionary tale about the dangers of drug abuse.
Mugshots is a must-read for fans of mystery fiction. It is a collection of精彩and suspenseful stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat. McBain's writing is sharp and his characters are complex and believable. If you're looking for a great mystery read, then I highly recommend Mugshots.
